Intertex serves the US hotel industry, which purchases $442 million of decorative fabrics annually. Further, many hotel projects outside of the US are designed and specified in the US. Worldwide, decorative product sales are estimated at $1.8 billion.
Seven years ago, the Center for Hospitality Research at Cornell University studied best practices for the hotel industry to build customer value and brand loyalty. The study found that brand name, physical appearance of the property, and guest room design were the most significant factors influencing customer decisions. Recognizing that decorative textiles are one of the primary drivers for hotel aesthetics and guest room design, in 2003 Intertex began to focus on the opportunity to provide decorative textile expertise to hotels. As the supply of textiles produced in the US diminished, Intertex also began to develop an international sourcing network of decorative products and services.
Today, Intertex has organized a smoothly-functioning supply chain while building an excellent product selection from a diversified sourcing pool. The Intertex management team is comprised of individuals with extensive marketing and technical product background and a proclivity for new technology. Intertex offers simple, streamlined, reliable turnkey methods for supplying internationally-produced commercial textiles. Intertex has built the logistics infrastructure to coordinate importing activities and has created working partnerships with a broad array of international mills. |
