dependable and innovative domestic and international mills.
Communications with customers and sources, as well as careful

established a network of corresponding agents within each
of the countries where the firm is conducting business. Further,
Intertex has invested in building the logistics structure
to coordinate all importing activities.
History
of the Company
In 1992 Intertex was established by George
Ladner as a national textile sales and marketing company
focusing on interior fabrics for office, hospitality, and
healthcare facilities. The company was highly successful,
growing during the 1990s to annual sales of $29 million representing
two domestic mills (Burlington Industries and Joan Fabrics)
and one international mill.
In
1999, Mr. Ladner formed eDesignerSource to sell textiles via
the Internet. Intertex merged with eDesignerSource to offer
an extensive selection of decorative fabrics to the 2.5 $billion
commercial fabric distribution market. The company's web-based
interface and proprietary enabling technology offered designers
broad product selection, robust search capabilities, innovative
design tools, overnight delivery of product samples, and on-line
ordering. After 9 months, implementing the first phase of
start-up, eDesignerSource offered more than 3,500 fabrics
to commercial interior designers. By mid 2000 the capital
markets to fund new ventures turned dramatically down and
eDesignerSource was unable to secure funds that were budgeted.
The company ceased operations in 2001.
In
2003 Intertex was re-established as a textile sales agency
and importer of commodity and decorative fabrics. Intertex
is now combining some of the technology from eDesignerSource
with a growing base of international sources to become the
premiere supplier to the hospitality interior fabric market.
